Together with INHOPE and other organisations that have the safety of children at heart, ZiuZ gave birth to the ESCAPE project. ESCAPE is an eco-system which includes several software platforms that enable every industry stakeholder and every member of the public around the globe to report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) encountered online.

An eco-system of IT-systems that enables the whole world to report child sexual abuse material encountered online? ZiuZ is working on it! Together with INHOPE and other organisations that have the safety of children at heart, we gave birth to ESCAPE.

ESCAPE is more than a project, it’s an eco-system which includes several software platforms that are designed to tackle CSAM from different perspectives. The ESCAPE eco-system ensures that every industry stakeholder and each member of the public around the globe has the option and awareness to report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) encountered online.

In this eco-system, reports containing new and unknown CSAM will be assessed by experienced hotline analysts and relayed to specialised police investigators for immediate action. The way the reports are analysed differs from the profile of the entity that reports CSAM. For this reason, ZiuZ developed tailor-made software to match the profile of each type of reporter. In fact, ICCAM and the ReportBox are meant for public reports, while AviaTor is meant for industry reports.

ZiuZ is the project coordinator of AviaTor and the long-time technology partner of INHOPE as far as it concerns ICCAM and the ReportBox. The latter are both developed to enable the public from all over the world to report CSAM; ReportBox specifically targets starting hotlines in developing countries.

Thanks to the eco-system, analysts are able to prioritise and classify reports faster thanks to the automation and intelligence tools provided in the eco-system. Hence, it significantly saves analysts’ time because the automatic classification of known material and CSAM on the internet means that it can be taken down faster to prevent further circulation and downloads. In addition, the system enhances the awareness of the public and industry of the legal and moral needs related to CSAM and gives them the possibility to report it.

ZiuZ is proud to be the technological partner of INHOPE and actively take part in this vital project which fully represents the mission of our company.
